Current Proposed Instructional Models at PS 33:
● Blended (Remote and In-Person Learning)
--We are considering a 3-Cohort Model. This option enables each student to attend school 1 to 2 days each week. Based on the number of students and the size of our classrooms, this provides adequate space to ensure social distancing is maintained at all times and with no more than 10 students per classroom.
● Full Remote Learning
--With this option, all instruction will be provided remotely and continue to be taught by a teacher from Chelsea Prep.
There may be certain exceptions due to school staff circumstances.

Blended Learning at PS 33 Chelsea Prep
(As of August 19, 2020)

To safely accommodate all of our students and staff for the return to school in Fall
2020, our school has selected the 3-Cohort Model for blended learning. Blended
learning means students will do learning some days in-person at school and some
days at home. Students who are not signed up for full time remote instruction will
be participating in blended learning.
To maximize instructional time in school and for instructional consistency, we will
be utilizing the flipped classroom model and additional instructional practices to
ensure each child receives high quality curriculum and instruction both at home
and in school. Video mini-lessons, online digital software, paper & pencil
materials, and various learning resources will be available to allow students to
preview and practice lesson concepts at home before receiving targeted teacher
supports in school.
Click here to see a snapshot of the in-person and at-home learning days over the
course of three weeks for each of the cohorts.
You will receive your child’s assigned cohort the week of August 24, 2020

Choosing Remote Instruction for Fall
Families have the option of choosing to have their child attend school solely through remote learning. Schools should assume that students will be attending school in-person as set forth in the school’s selected programming model unless families choose to enroll their child into full-time remote learning.
Families can choose full-time remote learning at any time, for any reason, using the Learning Preference(Open external link) online form.
